Madera's Tyler Faoro continues to dominate the A Pro class on the national circuit. The American Bicycle Association (ABA) held their annual Super Nationals at the Metroplex BMX facility in Desoto, TX. 2 days of national racing and 2 wins for Florida #1 pro Tyler Faoro.
Day 1:
Faoro easily qualified through the motos and semi finals to get himself a spot in the main event. With top finishes in qualifying Faoro had priority pick for his lane in the main event. Faoro wisely choose lane 1 for his main event and when the gate dropped he was gone. Lead the way from start to finish with no challenge for the lead.
Day 2:
Much of the same as on day 1. Faoro qualified through motos easily and into the main event with first lane pick. Gate dropped and Faoro took off. There were some battles for positions but nothing that he had to worry about. At the Pro level of BMX most riders are at the top of their game and the race either comes down to who can get a good start and ride smooth or who makes the least amount of mistakes. From what I've noticed from watching Faoro in the A Pro class he doesn't make to many mistakes and his starts are the best in the class.
After the event I had dinner with Faoro and talked with him a bit and asked him how much longer he'll be in the A Pro class. You see once you hit a certain amount of prize money in that class you get bumped up to the big leagues (AA Pro) and have to race guys such as Maris Strombergs and Kyle Bennet just to name a few of the top guys. Faoro said that it won't be to much longer as he's won a bunch of races in the season already. I predict that come summer time Faoro will be on the gate in the AA Pro class with another Florida favorite Josh Meyers.
Good Job Tyler, even though Coral Springs lost their BMX Track almost 2 years ago you've still managed to progress in the sport. Big thanks to Okeehelee BMX for taking Faoro as one of their own and providing a stellar track for him to progress.
