Started off the weekend with practice on Friday went well with the few laps I got. Seeing that there were close to 200 pro riders between AA Pro, A Pro, elite women, vet pro, and all the Jr classes/ Jr devo. Got myself about 5 laps felt good out there with the few laps I took.
Saturday morning was the same thing with trying to get some laps, got about 3 gates. Track was good weather was perfect. Pro Section was lame I didn't even take any runs through it. Was a tall steep landing on the first one, into a long super flat landing on the second one.
Raced Apro both days with 45 Apro's had some good moto's taking 1,1,1. Moved onto quarters and took 1st in that and 1st in the semi. Main time came around and I had 2nd pick in lane choice so I took box 2. Had a good start but bumped the top of the landing on the first jump so I didn't get the holeshot, went to flow into the first turn in 2nd planning on making a pass for 1st but in the first turn Latvian rider Maris guadmonis tryed to come inside me and ran right into my foot flipped his bars and ended his lap quick, caused me to unclip for the whole 2nd straight dropping me back to fourth. Finally got clipped back in going into turn two an got back on it, make a pass for 3rd into turn 3 and was shoppig for the two spot into the last turn but didn't want to slide out so shut it down for the 3 for the day!
Sunday morning rolled around after it rained all night. Got to the track and took some podium pictures from day 1. Didn't even warm up for first round didn't want to dirty up the tires or get them wet so I settled for 2nd in moto one. Round 2 came around still raining but it picked up a bit. First few groups of pro's went and everyone in those motos took a digger in the slickkkk first turn. So I played it safe out of the gate and cruised around smoothly for a 4th without crashing. Round 3 was a differnt story spun out of the gate and had to use the ponys to get my self into top 3 without crashing on the slick Arizona course, was cruising around turn 3 an both tires slid out almost hit the dirt, but managed to catch myself with my foot, as I dropped back to 6th not qualifying to the quarters. I have never been so pumped not to make the main. Even had I made it I wasn't going up for the next round. Track was slick as can be and muddy as can be. Everyone i saw come off the track was covered in mud and the ones who fell looked as if they got sprayed with water from a septic tank! Racing gear ruined and everything.
I watched the rest of qualifying as pro's pedaled and looked like they had 2 wheel drive bikes, pedaling fast going no where as they went side ways and fell over! Saw a lot of funny crashes out there and a lot of people wreck and get up and make some mud slides back into qualifying positions!
Still out in Arizona doing some training and riding headed back to FLA on Thursday to finish getting ready for Desoto TX for the UCI national championship!
Wish me luck! If your nt going to be there for that race check it out on GO211.com
Big thanks to all my sponsors that help get me where I'm at.
