We check in with one of the fastest amateurs on the circuit, Mr Juan Camilo Marin and asked him to give us a break down of weapon of choice. Marin has been tearing up the Florida racing circuit for years winning class as well as open main events. Currently running the #1 Florida Plate in the 17-18 Expert class. So you might want to pay attention to the parts the he trusts to put on his bike especially since the kid flat out hauls!
So Juan, give us a run down of your parts and let us know why you like each part.
Frame: Redman Pro XL.
JM: Haven't been riding the frame for too long but its already one of my favoritse, it rides super smooth and is awesome for technical tracks. Manuals great which is my favorite thing about it for sure.
Bars: S&M T3.
JM: I love big bars and these are one of the bigger ones out there I used to run the morphine sucker punch which are also godd and are about the same but i went with the S&M's because they are a little lighter.
Stem: S&M race XLT.
JM: I have the 53mm, I don't know what the difference in length is so I chose the middle one.
Grips: Tangent lock-on.
JM: I like the softer grips cause I ride a lot and my calluses hurt so I choose the softest.
Forks: Sinz carbon pro.
JM: Best forks I've ever ridden and super light.
Cranks: shimano Dxr 175.
JM: By far the best cranks ever made I love how they ride, they're real stiff and the easiest cranks to work on.
Sprocket: Sharp 44 tooth front. Crupi 16 tooth rear.
JM: I've ridden the same gear since I was 13 and only changed for one race (which I did horrible in) it's a good gear for every track in my opinion.
Seat and Seat Post: T.H.E Icon Pro Seat & Thomson Elite Post.
JM: Real comfortable and light. The post is the lightest post ever.
Brakes: Paul motolite.
JM: The brakes run good but kinda hard to work on, really light.
Wheels: Chris King hubs. Alienation deviant front. Alienation Runaway back. Tioga Powerblock tires.
JM: My wheels are my favorite part of the bike I tried to make them real light so I chose the double butted spokes. Also, they spin really good and are super smooth I'll still have these wheels when I'm 50 they last for ever. For tires I use the powerblocks because they carve the turns real good and are smooth threw out the tack.
